Tennis mad friends have organised a 12 hour tennis challenge in memory of a friend, and you are invited to support them to help raise vital funds for children and young people with cancer.
Friends and colleagues of popular businessman Dave Johnson, who sadly died a year ago, are rallying together to participate in a sponsored 12 hour tennis-a-thon.
Dave played tennis with a group of friends every Thursday evening and was the chief organiser and driving force.
The 12 hour tennis marathon will take place at the Heron Centre on Sunday 26 July, from 7am.
Dave’s family has chosen to support CLIC Sargent and Macmillan Cancer Support as the charities closest to their hearts, and have set up an official Just Giving page for donations.
Event organiser John Klauber said: “We are hoping to raise as much as we can, with 100% of monies raised going to these most worthwhile charities.”
Spectators are welcome and refreshments will be available at the Courtside Cafe from 4pm onwards with tennis facilities also on hand for you to enjoy.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Georgina Reed said: “We would like to thank John and his friends for their support.
"We hope they make it through the 12 hours injury-free as they raise vital funds for children and young people with cancer.”
