Zurich Community Trust

About the partnership

CLIC Sargent was chosen by Zurich employees in 2011 and is one of Zurich’s three national charity partners. The £50,000 grant a year for five years will enable CLIC Sargent to support  children and young people with cancer from across the UK, from diagnosis onwards.

The support will include:

The 'CLIC Sargent Big Bag'

A ‘CLIC Sargent Big Bag' is given to families at the point of diagnosis and contain age-appropriate information for children, information for parents and practical items to make the long stays in hospital a little easier.

Grants

Exceptional grants for children and young people, and their families, of up to £250, which can be applied for based on need. The costs of a child having cancer starts at initial diagnosis and lasts throughout treatment. Reducing hours at work, taking time off or even leaving a job are all scenarios for parents or young people with cancer. Food and heating bills might increase, or childcare for other family members. These grants can help with the financial pressures that cancer brings.

Fundraising highlights

Zurich employees are also showing their own commitment to CLIC Sargent by having taken on personal fundraising  challenges including the Virgin London Marathon, group Skydives and most recently, an an abseil down the inside of the London Underwriting Centre. .

CLIC Sargent and Zurich Community Trust  have also developed volunteering opportunities for employees to lend and share their time, energy and skills, on both an individual and team basis.
