About the partnership

Wesleyan Assurance Society, the award winning financial services company for professionals, has chosen to support CLIC Sargent as its charity partner for 2011 and 2012.

Founded in 1841, the Wesleyan Assurance Society is a mutual society which provides tailored financial advice.

Staff at Wesleyan pulled out all the stops to raise over £51,000 in 2011 – over half of their partnership fundraising target! Fundraising events included a group trek up Snowdon mountain in Wales, participation in National Cupcake week and raffles, as well as a number of individual challenges.

Fundraising highlights

Wesleyan organised an abseil from its iconic 100ft city centre head office, led by Wesleyan’s chief executive Craig Errington. The event raised over £7,000 for CLIC Sargent.

Craig Errington said: “Coming to work in this building every day, you don’t appreciate how tall it is until you’re outside, on the roof, looking down! I was encouraged by Wesleyan staff to lead from the front and be one of the first to make the descent and I am delighted to say they have been very generous in supporting me.”

Helen Mitchell undertook a rigorous training programme to complete the Virgin London Marathon raising more than £2,500.
In 2012 Project Manager Graham Wiggins set himself the challenge of rowing 1,000,000. He borrowed a rowing machine from a local gym and rowed in the reception area of his office each morning until Friday 2nd March when he had completed the challenge raising over £3,000.

A huge thank you to everyone who has participated in a fundraising event so far.
