This September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
CLIC Sargent uses this month to raise awareness of the impact of childhood cancer and of our work supporting children and young people with cancer, and their families - families like Jordan's.
Ten-year-old Jordan, from Pentre Halkyn, north Wales was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2012.
Jordan collapsed during his parents’ wedding and was rushed to hospital where he was diagnosed.
CLIC Sargent is providing support for Jordan and his family during his ongoing treatment, including a CLIC Sargent Nurse.
Jordan’s mum Toni says: “Our CLIC Sargent Nurse Rhian has been an incredible support to the whole family. The first time she visited us at home she stayed for hours, going through everything that would happen with Jordan’s treatment.
"She is wonderful with all my children too, sitting with my daughter, explaining what’s happening in a way that doesn’t scare her."
I can’t imagine any family going through what we have without someone like Rhian to support them.
