Scotland Homes from Home Appeal

The NHS is building new hospitals in Glasgow and Edinburgh to treat children and young people with cancer. The new hospitals will be several miles from the current sites which means that CLIC Sargent needs to urgently raise £3million to move our Homes from Home to be close to the new hospitals.

A vital service

Each year around 300 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer in Scotland. During treatment, which can last up to three years, normal, everyday life is turned upside down.

CLIC Sargent Homes from Home are vital for families who regularly travel large distances for their child to be treated for cancer. They provide free self-catering accommodation, just a short walk from the hospital, so that the family (parents or carers and siblings) can stay together at this difficult time. Our Homes from Home in Scotland are Cruachan House in Glasgow and CLIC Villa in Edinburgh.

Please donate today, so that families dealing with cancer can stay together.

A place to be together

In our Homes from Home we provide a warm and homely environment, as well as the things you normally take for granted like a place to sleep, a washing machine, and space to relax. Families have told us that this service has been invaluable to them while they support their child during their often gruelling and intensive treatment.

Without more money we won’t be able to move our Homes from Home, and young cancer patients and their families won’t benefit from this vital support so close to the hospital.

Please donate today, so that families dealing with cancer can stay together.
