One little girl called Lola was teased when she returned to school because her hair had fallen out.
Her CLIC Sargent Nurse, Jane, went into Lola’s school and did a finger prick blood test in front of Lola’s class.
This showed her classmates how brave Lola is and since then, in her Mum’s words, Lola has become ‘a little hero at school’.
Can you imagine how happy Lola must have felt knowing that instead of being teased at school she would have the support of her classmates? And just think how relieved her parents would have been too?
Our CLIC Sargent Nurses can’t take away the hurt and heartache of cancer, but they can help children – and their families – to be as happy as possible.
