J D Wetherspoon

J D Wetherspoon is our longest standing corporate partnership - having raised more than £22million for Young Lives vs Cancer since 2002. We are incredibly proud to be working with J D Wetherspoon and have been blown away by the ongoing fundraising that both staff and customers do and the passion that they show for Young Lives vs Cancer.

At Young Lives vs Cancer we want J D Wetherspoon staff to be as involved as possible in the partnership! We have a dedicated team who answer queries from staff and provide them with fundraising ideas as well as supporting them with their own brilliant ideas. We also arrange huge bespoke events such as KICK, a national five-a-side football tournament spanning 17 venues and finishing in a grand finale at Wembley, a national darts tournament taking place in pubs across the UK and working with them on limited edition pin badges which raise funds for Young Lives vs Cancer and are only available in J D Wetherspoon pubs!

J D Wetherspoon chairman Tim Martin said:

We are extremely proud of our association with CLIC Sargent. Since 2002 our staff and customers have brilliantly supported our fundraising efforts. We look forward to raising even more money in the future.”

About the partnership

The partnership launched in 2002 and has continued to grow year on year.  We are so grateful to J D Wetherspoon customers, employees and local communities who have all played a part in fundraising to support children and young people with cancer.

We are excited to see what more we can do together to help young lives against cancer.

Helping young people with cancer

Our partnership with J D Wetherspoon is strengthened by our mutual commitment to supporting young people.

Young Lives vs Cancer works to improve the lives of young people with cancer, enabling them to fulfil their potential in all areas of their life. J D Wetherspoon provides working opportunities to help young people combine their job with their studies.

In addition to this, they also encourage ambitious young people to work their way up to become managers or gain recognised qualifications.
