We are thrilled to announce that the J D Wetherspoon and CLIC Sargent partnership has passed an incredible £14million milestone!
J D Wetherspoon pubs nationwide reached the milestone in June 2017, taking the 15 year total raised for CLIC Sargent to over £14million! We are very excited to find out what more we can achieve together in the future.
The funds have been raised through a variety of activities including KICK for CLIC Sargent (a staff five-a-side football tournament), pub quizzes, themed events and variety nights. Kick for CLIC Sargent 2017 raised an incredible £445,253 in the summer months, one of our highest ever raised.
Alongside these activities the fifth annual Darts for CLIC Sargent staff tournament took place, with over 564 teams from 465 J D Wetherspoon pubs around the UK, raising over £249,000 for the charity.
J D Wetherspoon chairman Tim Martin said: “We are extremely proud of our association with CLIC Sargent. Since 2002 our staff and customers have brilliantly supported our fundraising efforts.
We look forward to raising even more money in the future.”
About the partnership
The partnership launched in 2002 and has continued to grow year on year.
We are so grateful to J D Wetherspoon customers, employees and local communities who have all played a part in fundraising to support children and young people with cancer.
After celebrating our £12million milestone in April 2016 we were thrilled to hit the £14million just over a year later! We are excited to see what more we can do together to help young lives against cancer.
