Hospital life essentials

There are plenty of things that might help to make your time in hospital more comfortable. Here are some suggestions from young people:

    • Slippers
    • Comfortable clothes like baggy t-shirts
    • Puzzle books
    • Snacks
    • Headphones
    • Toiletries
    • Notebook and pen
    • Drinks
    • Batteries
    • Phone and charger (if you have a smartphone, some hospitals offer Wi-Fi)
    • Money
    • Books, magazines and DVDs
    • Photos
    • MP3 player, hand-held games console or portable DVD player.

Take anything you can think of, even if it's stuff you may not do anymore... the days can get very long and boring.

Electrical items, like phone chargers or laptop cables, should be tested before you can use them on the ward. Healthcare assistants on the ward can usually get this sorted quite quickly.
