About the partnership
CLIC Sargent is delighted to have been chosen as the 2012 Careys Foundation Charity of the Year.
In 2011 the Carey Group established the Careys Foundation, a Community Interest Company (CIC) to coordinate and deliver the various charitable, research and development, educational and community driven initiatives with which the business is involved.
The Carey Group is a family business, founded over 40 years ago, providing Demolition, Civil Engineering, Concrete Structures, Building and Environmental Solutions services. The family ethos runs through all undertakings in the business and the values of looking after each other and the wider community underpin the company’s drive to support charities and local causes.
Contracts Manager Gerry McGettigan and his daughters got the fundraising off to a great start with their 15k Waendel walk which raised almost £1,300. Then a team of fearless Carey Group employees took their efforts to new heights when they abseiled off the Westfield Shopping centre in Stratford. The group raised a fantastic £2,400 for CLIC Sargent and you can read a first-hand account of their experience on the Careys Foundation website.
More Carey Group employees took part in the Jones Lang Lasalle property triathlon at Dorney Lake in Windsor. Competing on the hottest day of the year, the intrepid team of six raised £6,836, which smashed their original target of £2,000.
top of page Not to be outdone, a further team of twenty completed a Three Peaks challenge, scaling the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales – Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike - in 24 hours which involved climbing a total 3,407m (11,178ft) over the course of the weekend. The team raised just over £8,700 which is a fantastic achievement, well done to everyone who took part.
