James Allen - Formula 1 sports commentator

"The stories one hears about families dealing with a child with cancer are moving and, as a parent of two small boys, I can imagine only too clearly what a strain it must be.

"I have visited CLIC Sargent children in Great Ormond Street and have met many others at fundraising events and I am always moved by their bravery and spirit.

"I am lucky; I have an exciting job, which I adore and which takes me around the world. If, by volunteering some of my time to raise funds for CLIC Sargent, I can help to improve the lives of the children and their families, then it seems to me a wholly worthwhile enterprise."

Alice Beer - broadcaster and presenter

"Every day I protect my children and family from bumps, falls and busy roads. But cancer just creeps from within, the best mother in the world can't stop it and that terrifies me. Through CLIC Sargent I have seen the incredible strength and faith needed for a family to cope with a very sick child.

"I have seen the way this illness pulls normal life apart. Recently, as a family, we supported close friends as they endured the awful illness of a member of their family. They needed beds for the night at short notice, help interpreting the medical information, lifts back and forwards to the hospital, help working out the suddenly tight finances and very strong shoulders to lean on. We did the best we could, but I have seen CLIC Sargent do it brilliantly time after time.

"My whole family are now involved with supporting CLIC Sargent. I am passionate about fundraising for them - getting lots of people to give a little is my philosophy! I am determined that no family with a sick child would be alone because there just isn't the money. When CLIC Sargent ask for our time and energy we give it and we are thankful that they are there."

Angellica Bell - children's TV presenter

“CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity. Keeping families together lies at the heart of their work.  A cancer diagnosis is hard enough, but when it is your child, your world falls apart; this puts an enormous strain on the whole family and is a very traumatic time.”

Mark Chapman - radio and TV presenter

"Being a parent myself I understand how children mean just everything. I have been a Patron of CLIC Sargent for several years now and am so proud to be involved with a charity that does such a huge amount for children and young people with cancer and leukaemia. CLIC Sargent provides support and advice for the entire family throughout this difficult time and is a completely invaluable lifeline to all of the families they support."

Jake Humphrey- TV presenter

“Being the dad of two healthy, happy little children, I count my blessings every day. However, my wife Harriet and I know not every parent can say that. Childhood cancer is a fight that we must all join.

"We’ve both been moved to see first-hand the vital difference that CLIC Sargent can make to a family who have been given the worst possible news. From huge things, such as a place to stay near their ill child to simple gestures like money to be able to travel to wherever someone’s child is being treated, CLIC Sargent does amazing work, but currently can’t help everyone. I want to help the wonderful people at CLIC Sargent reach even more young people and their families.”

Emma Johnson - British clarinet soloist

"There is nothing more distressing than illness in childhood, particularly cancer, and I support CLIC Sargent because what more worthwhile cause could there be?"

Julian Lloyd Webber - world leading cellist

"CLIC Sargent is such a wonderful charity providing a much needed lifeline for childhood cancer sufferers and their families. Being a Patron of such an important charity means so much to me – I hope you will join me in supporting CLIC Sargent."

Patsy Palmer - actress

“As a mother myself, I can’t even begin to imagine what it would be like if I was told that one of my children had cancer and this is why I feel so passionately about CLIC Sargent. They are an invaluable lifeline to all of the families they support, providing practical and emotional support and guidance for the whole family right from the point of diagnosis. I am so proud to be a patron of such a worthwhile cause.”

Duncan Pow - actor

“CLIC Sargent is a charity that is close to my heart. Having lost my cousin to leukaemia, I have first-hand experience of the work that they do. Without CLIC Sargent and the services that they provide for families and children with cancer, what is an already frightening and life changing experience would become truly terrifying. I do not know how we would have managed. With 10 children and young people finding out they have cancer every day, the work that CLIC Sargent do becomes more and more important on a daily basis. What little I can do to help is a privilege.”

Gaby Roslin - TV and radio presenter

"CLIC Sargent provides absolutely crucial support for children and young people with cancer, as well as their whole families. I support CLIC Sargent because I believe wholeheartedly that the services that they provide really change lives."

Michelle Ryan - actress

"As an Ambassador of CLIC Sargent, I feel very privileged to have met so many inspiring and courageous young people going through treatment and I am always so touched by their bravery and spirit. I am so proud to be a part of this charity that provides crucially important support to these children as well as their families."

Richard Young - society photographer

"Since losing my first wife Rita some 23 years ago to breast cancer, and left with the daunting task of bringing up our two young sons, I know only too well the importance of support and care.

"The support and guidance that CLIC Sargent offers is something that cannot be quantified and it is my privilege to help promote them in anyway I can."

Susan Young - Richard Young Gallery director

"I am particularly passionate about CLIC Sargent as it is a charity which supports children and young people from all over the UK. During the last year it has supported more than 6,500 children and young people with cancer and their families. CLIC Sargent’s health and social care professionals deliver clinical, emotional, financial and practical support in hospital, at home and in the community, right across the UK.

"The charity has a strong voice nationally and locally and provides a platform for children and young people with cancer to express their needs and views, and researches the psychosocial impacts of childhood cancer."
