Adrian Collins, Director of CAB Special Batteries Ltd in Plymouth will be pounding the streets on Saturday March 14 2009 to raise money for CLIC Sargent. He has set himself the personal challenge of completing a six mile run along the cycle route from Exeter Bridge to Turf Lock and back in just under one hour. Adrian has also enlisted the support of four of his employees who will be running with him on the day.
Adrian was inspired to fundraise for the Charity after his mother was diagnosed with cancer in 2008. She recently lost her battle with the disease this year and Adrian is keen to do something which will benefit others facing similar situations.
“This is a cause which is particularly close to my heart as my mum recently lost her battle with the illness and the support that was given to her during this illness is partially funded by events like this,” he said.
Adrian continues: “I really wanted to do something and after reading about what CLIC Sargent do to help the families of children and young people with cancer I felt compelled to help.”
Through the sponsored run, Adrian is hoping to raise £1,000 for CLIC Sargent. If you would like to sponsor Adrian please visit his justgiving site at: http://www.justgiving.com/adriancollins or alternatively please call: 01752 696000.
