The third annual CLIC Sargent Ball took place on Saturday, 13th June at Filleigh Village Hall near Barnstaple. With a ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ theme, the Ball was a sell-out and raised £6,300 for CLIC Sargent. 160 people enjoyed canapes, dinner and dancing. Music was provided by the North Devon Sinfonnia Quartet followed by Theo Massos singing and acting as a fantastic host. Theo ensured the dance floor was packed from the outset with guests dancing in the isles.
The event’s auction raised £2,000 and lots included Take That concert tickets, a collection of Golden Coast rubber ducks and a Sausage and Mash Dinner for eight, kindly donated by Toby and Angela Ansdell of Westgate Angus and was eventually sold for £300 - stretched to feed 30 people.
Ball organisers - Jacky Massos, Jo Dunbavin and Jenny Birch - are delighted with the success of the event and are very grateful for the support of the many sponsors and to those that came and enjoyed the evening, giving so generously. The money raised will add to the North Devon CLIC Sargent fundraising total which is rapidly reaching £1,000,000 since the local branch was founded 25 years ago.
