The Electric Sun Concert in aid of CLIC Sargent, which took place at the end of 2008, proved a real hit, attracting a number of revellers to local music venue The Ironworks in Inverness. The concert, which was organised by local businessman and musician Mark Allison, raised over £1,400 for the Charity. The fundraising event was helped along with a major personal donation coming from Tullochs Chairman, David Sutherland.
Inverness Business Women of the Year and Jeweller Hazel Passmore, who sponsored the event, donated a unique necklace from her latest collection worth over £400 to the evening’s prize draw.
Entertainment for the evening was four locally based rock and blues acts including Bluebelly, 11 Mile Drive, Wildflowerz and Soundgun (formerly known as The Cut). The recently formed Wildflowerz played their new material for the first time that evening.
Organiser Mark Allison played electric guitar within the group, was thrilled with the response of the crowd. He says: “This has been a fantastic evening and it has been a real joy to be able to perform and raise money for a worthwhile cause at the same time.”
