CLIC Sargent held its first ever annual raft race in Aberfeldy on the 21st June 2009 with beautiful conditions on The Tay in Perthshire, and raised £9,000 for children with cancer.
Seven teams took part in the event to raise much needed funds for CLIC Sargent. The Charity would like to thank all the participants for such a great effort but especially to The Erdington Rapido’s team who raised over £2,500 between their team of six.
Well done to our race winners – team Rock n Row, who finished first in a highly charged race that was close by any standards.
Richard Donald, CLIC Sargent Community Fundraising Manager is delighted with the event’s success and has praised all the participants. He said: “What a superb race, the weather was kind and above all thanks to the 50 participants who contributed with a fantastic fundraising effort.”
Should you wish to join this event next year and raise funds for CLIC Sargent please contact Richard Donald at CLIC Sargent on: 0141 572 5700 or email richard.donald@clicsargent.org.uk. All participants will receive a sponsorship pack and details for the day.
