For 10 years CLIC Sargent has been fortunate enough to be a nominated charity for the Great Wilderness Challenge in the beautiful area of Poolewe and Aultbea, Wester Ross.

The challenge is one of Scotland’s most gruelling endurance sports events uniquely placed in one of the country’s most beautiful areas.

In 2011 the event visited the challenging terrain of Kintail (Wester Ross) with eight, 10 and 18 mile courses. This turned out to be a record breaking year for the charity with 35 walkers and three runners raising £22,000 which was then increased to £33,000 by the event organisers.

One team deserve special mention as the Tarry Ile Bar from Inverness have had teams entering every year since the beginning and have raised a magnificent £47,202 which has been upped to £80,605.

A director of Pitlochry Golf Course, Jon Erasmus, was the highest individual entry in 2011 raising a fantastic £4,425. Roll on 2012.
