The Glasgow Hospitals Carol Concert celebrated a special 30th anniversary of performance recently by handing over a cheque for more than £35,000 to CLIC Sargent.
The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall was again the venue for the Glasgow Hospitals Carol Concert, which celebrating 30 years of performance last December. The evening was organized by a very dedicated, talented and hard working committee of volunteers. Over the last three decades the Glasgow Hospitals carol concerts have raised over £1million for CLIC Sargent in Scotland.
Headlining the night was Welsh Soprano, Elin Manahan Thomas and Conductor, Ian McCrorie who both wooed the sell out 2,300 strong audience with excellent performances. The Kelvinside Academy Junior Choir provided fantastic support as guests for the evening.
Community Fundraising Manager at CLIC Sargent, Richard Donald said: “Firstly, a huge thank you to our committee of volunteers for making the whole event possible and so successful and especially to lady Elinor who steps down from the chair after five hugely successful years. The evening has proved to be a record in terms of income to CLIC Sargent and thanks again to our main sponsors Foresters for their contributions towards the costs.”
The Glasgow Hospitals carol concert is on 4 December 2009. There are sponsorship opportunities available for this event. Tickets will be on sale from the autumn from The Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow.
