For the past two years CLIC Sargent and The Army Cadet Force have been working in partnership towards a special event now known as The Annual Youth Challenge, which raises funds for children with cancer. This year's event was held at Drumpellier Country Park, Coatbridge, Lanarkshire. Other youth organisations were also invited and this year they were joined by The Air Training Corps.
The aim of the day was to have fun as always but also offered a competitive edge as cadets from both organisations competed in three events, raising funds for CLIC Sargent. This year’s events were: rafting, orienteering and command tasks.
Trophies and certificates were issued at the end of the day with The ACF winning the overall day for the second year running, later they threw down the gauntlet looking for other challengers for next years event.
Richard Donald, CLIC Sargent's Community Fundraising Manager, said: "My most sincere thanks to all those that participated and sponsored the event and helped raise a fantastic £2000, special thanks also to Steve Frampton at the ACF for all his efforts within planning and making the day such a huge success."
