A crisp morning on Sunday 7th December saw over 8,000 Santa’s take to the streets of Liverpool for the 2008 Liverpool Santa Dash, of which CLIC Sargent was one of the two official charities, in partnership with Century Radio. Currently the event has raised more than £12,000 to help children with cancer and their families and this total is set to rise.
The atmosphere was electric, with a sea of Santa’s taking over the city for the day, with babies in prams dressed as Rudolph; three-legged Santa’s limping bravely across the finishing line and Santa’s being pulled through the city in their sleigh.
Emily Felix-Davis, Event Fundraising Manager at CLIC Sargent says: “On the day the Santa’s received many cheers, particularly from the Liverpool Foxes cheerleading squad from Liverpool University, who kindly agreed to become the CLIC Sargent cheerleaders for the day. They were loud, enthusiastic and proud, braving the 8.00am chill by the dockside to come and support the Santa’s running on behalf of CLIC Sargent.”
If you took part in the Santa Dash and ran for CLIC Sargent, please forward any outstanding sponsorship money to: CLIC Sargent (Santa Dash) 44a High Street, Henley in Arden, Warwickshire, B95 5AN. If you would like a receipt and in order for us to send you a certificate, please ensure you include your name and address with any correspondence.
CLIC Sargent would like to thank to every Santa who took part and also to the Liverpool Foxes for their support on the day and to Sarah Griffiths for all her help.
