Well done everyone!
So far CLIC Sargent runners have raised £10,000 by taking part in this year’s Experian Robin Hood Festival of Running. An extra £15,000 is expected from the Charity’s partnership as one of the Official Charities, plus more is expected from the participants who are running just for CLIC Sargent.
CLIC Sargent had nearly 60 runners taking part in the event. Although this is the last year as one of the official charities, CLIC Sargent is delighted by the amount of money that has been raised.
One participant who has first hand knowledge of CLIC Sargent’s support is Steven Wilson. His son is receiving treatment at the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, where CLIC Sargent funds a specialist care team.
Steven feels it is important to get involved the Charity’s fundraising events. He was so motivated to help, that he ran this year’s Robin Hood Marathon never having run this far in his life before and will be running next year's London Marathon!
Steven did incredibly well and raised a fantastic £636.50 to help other children with cancer and their families which, will be matched by his employer DHL.
