Sunday the 14th of September saw over 12,000 people take part in the Experian Robin Hood Festival of Running in Nottingham. From the fun run to the full marathon, from the Cooper Parry Corporate Relay to the half marathon, this event had something for all runners, regardless of their ability.
CLIC Sargent was fortunate enough to be chosen as one of the four official charities again this year and hopes to raise over £17,000 from the event.
Last year nearly £66,000 was raised for the four official charities: The Fire Fighters Charity, CLIC Sargent, Headway – the brain injury association and Alzheimer’s Society.

Dee Richardson, Event Fundraising Manager for the North of England and the East Midlands, would like to thank everyone who took part in the event, whether they ran for the four official charities, ran just for CLIC Sargent or helped in the lead up to the race stuffing the 12,000 runners’ goody bags or on the day of the race marshalling the course and therefore making it safe for the runners.
Dee said: “Events on the scale of the Experian Robin Hood Festival of Running couldn’t go ahead without the help of volunteers, so thank you, not just on behalf of the charity but also on behalf of the race organisers Sweatshop, who rely heavily on volunteers to stuff the goody bags, marshal the route and massage the runners after the race. In helping CLIC Sargent fulfill it’s role as one of the four official charities you are helping the 10 children and young people who are diagnosed with cancer everyday.
“For those runners who chose to support us either by running just for CLIC Sargent or by running for the four official charities, I would like to say thank you as well. You have achieved something many, including myself, can only dream of, while raising money for a really worthwhile cause, thank you.”
If you are interested in getting involved in the Experian Robin Hood Festival of Running event next year, either by goody bag stuffing, marshalling or running please contact Dee Richardson at CLIC Sargent on: 0113 2307902.
