Jamie Lee Nethercott from Lisburn recently organised a charity night to support CLIC Sargent. Jamie Lee wanted to give something back to the charity as a result of the support given to her brother TJ.
Jamie Lee has provided us with a letter of thanks explaining the journey that her brother and their family have been on.
"In February 2009 my little brother TJ was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma which is cancer of the lymph nodes. He was nine when diagnosed, following his diagnosis he began a long year of both chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments, which was just awful for him but thankfully in January this year he was told he is in remission which is just fantastic.
"During TJ’s treatment both he and my family received a lot of help from CLIC Sargent. So for all the help we received myself and my family wanted to give something back to the charity and also to help other families who are going through the same tough time we did with TJ.
"I held a charity night in the Derriaghy Cricket Club on the 24 September this year and managed to raise £546.55 which was great. So I would like to say a big thank you to all the people who turned up to support me and also to the following people and businesses for donating raffle prizes.
- Something Simple Coffee Shop, Lisburn
- Smyth Patterson, Lisburn
- Joe Mowberry, The Washington Restaurant, Belfast
- Jennys Cupcakes, Belfast
- Noel Burns
- Alan Hawthorne
- John, The Chelsea Wine Bar
- Cutters Restaurant, Belfast
"Also thanks to Derriaghy Cricket Club for the use of the hall, Bow Street Rollers, Lisburn for the music and finally Phillip Nickelson for doing the DJ."
