Essex based contracting business, Tamdown have raised £20,000 from a triathlon event – inspired by one of their colleagues whose son Sam has been diagnosed with cancer.
Staff at Tamdown heard about the support the family were receiving at UCLH from CLIC Sargent and TCT and they decided they wanted help.
The triathlon event was held at Alton Water, Sutton in Suffolk and saw participants run, canoe and cycle all in aid of children and young people with cancer. The day was a great success and the money is to be equally shared between CLIC Sargent and TCT – the two charities that helped Sam the most. Everyone enjoyed the day so much that they have decided to organise another event next year and invite their suppliers to join in the fun.
CLIC Sargent would like to thank Mick Hines and everyone at Tamdown for organising such a fantastic event, and for the support they have given Sam’s family.
