Family and friends of Liam Fairhust joined CLIC Sargent supporters at Red Lodge Karting near Suffolk, to take part in a two hour endurance challenge in aid of Liam's favourite charity.
F1 journalist, presenter and CLIC Sargent Patron James Allen, kindly joined everyone in the afternoon and the commentary he gave on the racing created a fabulous atmosphere.
23 teams took part to celebrate what would have been Liam's 15th birthday, and the challenge saw Team DNF and Team TopKatz 100 win the morning and afternoon events respectively.
The team that raises the most sponsorship by the 1st April will receive a great prize – a visit to the MacLaren F1 factory in Woking. This is a fantastic day and will hopefully encourage team members to raise as much sponsorship as possible to help children with cancer.
A big THANK YOU to everyone who took part in the event, and especially to Red Lodge Karting, that have kindly offered to make it an annual charity event. So if you missed out this year, make sure you are there next year!
Inspirational young fundraiser Liam Fairhurst, 14, from Soham, Cambridgeshire, sadly died in June 2009 after being diagnosed with cancer four years earlier. Liam launched his phenomenal fundraising campaign for CLIC Sargent in 2006 and to date his fund stands at around £350,000.
