The annual Cambridge Carol Concert was once again a great success and was a seasonal start to the Christmas holiday for everyone.
Thanks to the fantastic promotion provided by BBC Radio Cambridge this year saw more people than ever come along to the St Mary’s University Hospital to hear the Joint Hospital Choir of Addenbrookes and Papworth staff, conducted by Peter Britton, perform a variety of carols and Christmas music. Sawston Village School Choir and Prime Brass also once again proved to be both popular and entertaining.
The evening commenced with a warm welcome from Sally Ramsay, a CLIC Sargent Trustee and the event was kindly sponsored by the Foresters who also provided the well received mince pies during the interval.
We are still waiting on the final figures from the box office but over £1000 was taken in ticket sales on the door on the night and we hope that the event has raised approximately £3000.
A big thank you to everyone who attended and volunteered on the night – see you all again next year!
