Thanks to the success of last year's Commotion event, a family-friendly music festival that lets young, talented musicians perform to a live audience, Kingham Primary School is now preparing their next event for this year.
2009 was a fantastic event and despite the awful weather, it raised several thousand pounds. Kate Woodward, member of the Kingham Primary School Association (KPSA) presented a cheque for £5,000 to the charity. (KPSA recently won the National NCPTA award for Innovation in Fundraising).
A hugh thank you goes out to everyone involved.
The money raised helps provide specialist music teaching for children at the school and for community music events and for CLIC Sargent. Spectators experienced a range of music genres, took part in workshops and sampled local beers and good food and the main stage hosted fantastic performances by Abba Gold and Beverley Craven, BRIT Award winning singer.
Commotion 2010 will be in July and is expected to attract some very talented artists! Final details coming very soon.
