The Mayhew School of Dancing in Northampton has raised £3,250 to help support children and young people with cancer through their recent concert entitled “Step in Time”. The concert, which took place on the 12 and 13 November 2011, saw 134 children from six-18 years old perform a number of different styles of dance including ballet, modern & tap. Some of the routines performed at the concert had won prizes at the All England Dance Finals earlier in the year.

Everyone worked really hard to make the concert a huge success but special thanks must go to the teachers - Linda Knight, Fiona Sheehan, Emma Louise Earl and, of course, to the children for their hard work.

Claire Shovelton, community fundraising manager for CLIC Sargent, attended the concert and commented “The children had obviously worked really hard practicing and learning their routines and the teachers, Linda, Emma Louise and Fiona managed to bring the different styles of dance together to create a wonderful concert. I was so surprised to see the level of skill and talent the children demonstrated. It was an absolute joy to watch and on behalf of CLIC Sargent I would like to say an enormous thank you to everyone at the Mayhew School of Dancing for supporting CLIC Sargent this year.”
