CLIC Sargent’s fourth annual abseil event at the Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC) is set to raise an incredible £25,000 for the charity. 84 brave supporters descended the hospital building, many in fancy dress and included QMC staff, students and families who are being supported by CLIC Sargent.
Dee Tyler, event fundraising manager at CLIC Sargent says: “We were relatively lucky with the weather, but there were still a few drenched abseilers who descended just as the heavens opened! We had some great fancy dress outfits as well from a spider, a werewolf, to a group of pink fairies! The highest fundraiser this year raised an enormous £1,380! The day was a great achievement for everyone involved.”
CLIC Sargent would like to thank the Foresters for sponsoring the event, everyone who took part, individual sponsors and volunteers – all who made the event such a great success.
Roll on 2012! CLIC Sargent is holding an abseil at the QMC next year. For more information and to register your interest please contact Dee Tyler at CLIC Sargent on 0113 2307902/07767 621705 or at dee.tyler@clicsargent.org.uk. Help us make 2012 even bigger and better!
