How do I get a place?
If you applied for a place via the public ballot, results will be announced in the first two weeks of October.
If you are lucky enough to secure your own place in the 2010 Virgin London Marathon - we would love to have you join the CLIC Sargent team. We'll support you every step of the way and plan to make it the best ever experience for our fanatastic running team. Simply apply to join our team right now and we'll get our support pack whizzing on its way to you. We do not ask for a minimum fundraising pledge but would encourage you to raise as much as possible fo children and young people with cancer.
CLIC Sargent charity places are now full, due to an overwhelming response. Please apply next year or sign up to one of our other fantastic runs.

How much money do I have to raise?
If you secure your own place in the Virgin London Marathon
If you have been lucky enough to secure your own place in the Virgin London Marathon via the public ballot we would love to have you join the CLIC Sargent team. If you have your own place we do not ask for a minimum fundraising pledge but would encourage you to raise as much as possible for children with cancer.
If you are awarded one of CLIC Sargent's guaranteed places in the race
If you have managed to gain one of CLIC Sargent's Guaranteed places in the Virgin London Marathon we ask you to pay £100 registration fee (payable by credit/debit card upon being awarded a place) and pledge to raise a minimum £1,800 sponsorship. We know this sounds like a big commitment but every year our runners raise an amazing amount of money for children with cancer and the CLIC Sargent running team will be here to support you every step of the way.

What kind of support will CLIC Sargent give me?
Whether you are running on your own place or one of CLIC Sargent's guaranteed places we will support you every step of the way. You will recieve a welcome pack that includes lots of information about training and fundraising. Tabitha and Sarah from the CLIC Sargent running team will also be in touch regularly to support you and offer advice and encouragement, whether you are pounding the streets or collecting vital funds. We have a number of training events in 2010 where you can meet the team and on marathon weekend we will make sure that you are fully supported and cheered around your amazing 26.2 miles.

As a part of the CLIC Sargent team we will provide you with loads of information about the big day in the lead up to the event. We also work closely with our valued partner WRP, who can help to arrange travel and accommodation for those runners needing to stay in London www.wrptours.co.uk

What things do I need to remember for race day?
Don't panic! We will let you know what you need to remember on race day nearer the time. The London Marathon will also send out an information magazine at least three weeks before the race.

top of pageWhen will I get my race number?
You will need to visit the London Marathon exhibition in order to collect your race number. This is held at the Excel centre in central London and is open from Wed - Sat in the week leading up to the London Marathon. More details about this exhibition will be sent to you nearer the time.

top of pageWhat do I do if I am injured and can't run?
If you are unfortunate enough to be injured during your training please let Tabitha or Sarah at CLIC Sargent know as soon as possible by calling 0845 121 1925 or emailing virginlondonmarathon@clicsargent.org.uk In most cases we will be able to transfer your place to the marathon 2011.

As well as supporting you throughout the year with your training and fundraising we would love your family to get involved on marathon weekend. There will be opportunities for them to come and join our fantastic CLIC Sargent cheering points along the course and help celebrate with you at our post-event reception. We will let you know more details later in the year but ask them to pencil in the weekend of the 25th April 2010 into their diaries now!
top of pageCan I meet the CLIC Sargent team?
CLIC Sargent will be organising a number of training events in the run up to London Marathon where you can meet us and find out more about our services for children and young people with cancer.
In marathon week we would love to see you at the exhibition and the pre-race pasta party on Saturday evening. We will be there to cheer you around the marathon course on Sunday, and help celebrate with you at our party after the event.

How can I pay my sponsorship money in?
You can pay your sponsorship money into CLIC Sargent by sending us cheques in the post or via your online donation site at www.virginmoneygiving.org.uk
