We can't host our event between September and June. Can we still take part?
That's not a problem - many schools and clubs hold their event during the academic year but you can hold your event any time you like.
top of pageCan we order extra materials?
Email us at practiceathon@clicsargent.org.uk or call us on 08451 20 63 40 to request extra materials for your event. We can also send you a unique paying-in slip if you misplace your original, or if you opted to download your fundraising pack.
top of pageWho is my local Practice-a-thon representative?
The CLIC Sargent regional team is here to support you. Contact the team to find your local contact.
top of pageHow will I know CLIC Sargent has received the money we raised?
Once we receive your money, we’ll send you a thank you letter and certificate, or if you’ve opted to receive this by email, an email and e-certificate will be sent.
top of pageI can no longer hold an event. What should I do?
Please let the CLIC Sargent team know right away. Call us on 08451 20 63 40 or email us at practiceathon@clicsargent.org.uk – this will save us time and resources in contacting you. We hope you can join us next year!
top of pageDo I need to arrange insurance for my event?
CLIC Sargent recommends that persons undertaking fundraising events take out appropriate Personal Accident and Public Liability Insurance as CLIC Sargent cannot accept responsibility for claims, of whatever nature, that may arise from an event outside its control.
We advise you to take out insurance for all events but if your event is small your household insurance may cover it, so do check. If not, you may wish to contact Hiscox, who are independent insurers. Call them on 0845 213 8440 or visit www.hiscox.co.uk/events.
top of pageWill I get a budget from CLIC Sargent to cover the costs of my event?
Unfortunately not. As we are a charity this is not possible. Please try and secure support for your fundraising free or at minimal costs, as you’ll be responsible for any expenses you incur. You could cover any reasonable costs from the total money you raise, so you won’t be out of pocket.
top of pageDo I need to carry out a risk assessment?
We advise you to identify any potential accidents or hazards before you decide to hold the event by completing a risk assessment.
It’s a good idea to consider first aid facilities as part of the risk assessment process. These may range from having a first aid kit on hand at small events to having a person available with a formal first aid qualification or ‘partnering’ with a voluntary first aid organisation such as St. John’s Ambulance or the British Red Cross.
