Owls show their support for children with cancer
Sheffield Wednesday players showed their support for CLIC Sargent at their latest game against Charlton Athletic. The club is supporting CLIC Sargent’s Kick! campaign. Five-year-old Issabelle, from Ecclesfield in Sheffield, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in October 2009. She enjoyed the game from a special box at the stadium with her family, as a guest of the club. Issabelle’s mum Wendy says: “When Issabelle was diagnosed we received fantastic support from CLIC Sargent - our social worker Patrick took a lot of pressure off us and helped with everything from filling in forms to just being around when we needed someone to talk to. Issabelle is doing really well now and we’re pleased to be supporting CLIC Sargent’s Kick! campaign. “My husband and son Benjamin are huge Sheffield Wednesday fans and had a great time match, but I think Issabelle might be an even bigger fan than them now especially after meeting her favourite player Tommy Spurr. She keeps on asking for a season ticket!” Sheffield Wednesday will be helping to promote CLIC Sargent’s Kick! campaign to fans and staff with information on their website and in the match programme.
