Home > Get involved > Fundraising and events > Overseas/UK challenges >Whether you’re taking part in a CLIC Sargent challenge event for the first time or you've done one (or more!) before, raising the sponsorship for your adventure is definitely something you need to organise well in advance.
We're here to help!
We've supported hundreds of participants to reach their sponsorship goal. We’re only a phone call away and in addition to our initial fundraising pack, we'll send you regular e-newsletters bursting with fundraising ideas and training tips.
Our fundraising e-newsletters (sent every three months) help you plan in advance and make the most of seasonal events and parties where you can raise sponsorship. From celebrating Rolf Harris' birthday with an Australian themed BBQ, to celebrating Wimbledon at work with strawberries and cream delivered to colleagues desks, the sky's the limit!
The year is packed full of dates, anniversaries, birthday and special days of significance that you can use to your advantage, to help your fundraising efforts and have fun along the way. It can be fun and really enjoyable if you plan and organise yourself in good time.
Materials
We have everything you need to tell everyone who you're raising money for and why, including:
- Posters
- Balloons
- Bannering
- T-shirts
- Pens
- Collecting tins and buckets
Please return collection tins and buckets once you've finished with them, so that we can re-use them for other supporters. We also ask you to have a good think beforehand about what resources you really need. All our resources cost us money to produce, so if you can make do with washing and recycling t-shirts around any volunteers helping you collect for example, rather than ordering more each time you host a new event or collection, that's money saved which will go towards our services instead.
You can do it!
Half of any overseas or UK challenge is actually raising the sponsorship but with enthusiasm, dedication (and sometimes a 'if you don't ask you don't get' attitude!) you can definitely achieve your fundraising goal! Download our fundraising tips below for more ideas and read how other fundraisers did it.
