My family and I had planned to ask well-wishers at the funeral to donate money in lieu of flowers, to a charity that would have been close to Dee's heart.
I know that Dee would have put all her energies into helping children, especially children with cancer. CLIC Sargent was suggested through a close family friend and we know we have made the perfect choice - a really appropriate way to remember Dee and her life.
Our family is looking at lots of ways to continue fundraising for CLIC Sargent. We will always remember Dee, and we now know that all the money we raise in her memory will help families who rely on CLIC Sargent's wonderful work.
