Alison describes how she created an Especially for You fund after her daughter was diagnosed with cancer.

"Our daughter, Alyssa, was diagnosed with cancer when she was 3, not long before her 4th birthday.  Since that moment our lives changed forever, but what has kept us going has been the support we receive from CLIC Sargent both in hospital and at home."

"We set up a fund in our daughter Alyssa’s name so that family and friends could raise money for CLIC Sargent in her name.  Our friends and family have been fantastic and have all done something to help grow her fund; from our friend doing her first parachute jump, to another celebrating his 50th birthday by asking for donations instead of presents. Local companies who know Alyssa have also given us donations and Mark's rugby club have organised a fundraising event. All this in Alyssa’s name."

"I am planning to do a 10k run this year and Mark is also planning to do the Lowe Alpine Mountain Marathons in Scotland, to support Alyssa’s fund for CLIC Sargent."

"We felt that we wanted to give something back for all the help we have received, and this is our way of saying thank you."
