Our services include:
top of pageClinical care in hospital
When a child goes into hospital they are in safe, experienced hands with CLIC Sargent Doctors and Nurses working as part of the child's oncology team.
top of pageFamily care and support
We recognise that families need specialist support and advice from the very moment a child is diagnosed. Our Family Support Service offers emotional, social and psychological help in hospital and at home.
top of pageFinancial support
Money may seem unimportant when a child is diagnosed with cancer. Yet, as well as coping with the emotional stress, many families soon find that cancer brings financial strain too. Unpaid leave from work, after school care for siblings and travel are the most common costs. That’s why we offer Care Grants of £200 to help with immediate financial needs.
top of pageCLIC Sargent holidays
Malcolm Sargent House in Ayrshire offers family centred breaks and specialist weekends for young people, siblings, and bereaved families. Families can also opt for one of our luxury self-contained caravans in Exmouth (Devon), Pagham (West Sussex) or Fleetwood (Lancashire).
top of pageHomes from Home
Following the shock of a cancer diagnosis, getting specialist treatment is the overriding concern. This can take families miles away from home, adding to the stress of the situation. Our Homes from Home offer families free self-catering accommodation close to paediatric oncology centres.
top of pageResearch
CLIC Sargent has established the Child Cancer Foundation to carry out research into childhood cancer. This all-embracing approach confirms our commitment to deliver the best possible treatment and care for children and young people with cancer and their families.
top of pagePlay specialists
CLIC Sargent Play Specialists are found on paediatric oncology wards. Working at bedsides or in playrooms, they create a sense of ‘normality’ on the ward through play and activities. Another vital role is to use play to help children prepare for, and cope with, treatment.
top of pageYouth services
Specialist Youth Social Workers work with young people and their families to help them deal with aspects of treatment.
top of pageChild Cancer Helpline
Our Child Cancer Helpline is a free, anonymous and confidential telephone service. There is also an email address if preferred.
