CLIC Sargent believes that parents should not have to make the choice between caring for their children and the financial well being of their families, especially at a time of immense emotional trauma and increasing costs.

Getting the balance right

The ‘Parents Have a Right to Care’ project seeks to secure the full package of rights to time off and paid leave, carers policies and flexible working, that parents of children with cancer desperately need. We are working with employers, families, government and policy makers to ensure that Parents Have a Right to Care.

CLIC Sargent wants:
  • To make employees aware of their rights.
  • To ask employers to go further than their statutory obligations, so that parents have access to the full package of workplace rights that they need at this traumatic time.

In this section, you will find information for businesses wanting to support parents, and information for parents about their right to care.

For further information please read Chris's story, email campaigns@clicsargent.org.uk or telephone CLIC Sargent campaigns on 020 8752 2888.
