Our mission is to be there for each family, caring every step of the way, providing individual support to children and young people with cancer and leukaemia and their families through:

  • Clinical, emotional, psychological, social and financial services in hospital, at home and in the community across the UK
  • Being a strong voice nationally and locally
  • Research into improving treatment and care.

The care and treatment of children with cancer has come a long way and today seven out of ten children diagnosed will survive.

CLIC Sargent is committed to improving this figure further through its specialist care and by funding both clinical and social research projects.

But the fact is, cancer is still the largest killer disease in young children. The survivors of childhood cancer face major challenges of on-going side effects and discrimination. They still need our support.

We are committed to delivering the best possible services to children, young people with cancer and their families.  For further information about the services we provide, please visit our What we do section.

Where does CLIC Sargent carry out its work?

CLIC Sargent is a charity that operates and delivers care and support both locally and nationally.

We have main offices in Bristol and Hammersmith, our Head Office. Around the UK there are regional offices in Belfast, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Henley in Arden, Oxford, Bury St Edmunds, Lewes, Andover and Prestwick.

There are 350 staff on CLIC Sargent’s payroll. Some of these positions are part time. In addition to this, there are 60 funded or part funded (50%) NHS posts. There are also 60 social worker posts sub-contracted to local authorities.

Who is by our side?

Volunteers

As well as the hard work and dedication of employed staff, we have the support of many unpaid volunteers. They come from all walks of life and give from a few hours to several days a week – working in the community, in hospitals and in our offices around the UK. Their role is much needed and appreciated. For further information about volunteering for CLIC Sargent, please visit our Volunteer’s section which contains current opportunities and stories from those who already volunteer.

Branches & Committees

Many volunteers are part of our branch and committee network which reaches people across the UK promoting CLIC Sargent and raising money. They play a vital role in taking CLIC Sargent into local communities and promoting our cause at a grassroots level, raising both our profile and significant amounts of income. For further information about branches and committees in your area, please visit our In your region section.

Patrons

Our Patrons are influential high-profile people who help put our organisation ‘on the map’ in a variety of ways. They attend fundraising events, endorse our charity in the media and open networking opportunities. All of these are valuable avenues for raising our profile and raising money. There is a list of our Patrons in our Patron’s section.
