Put on your dancing shoes and get ready for some forties glamour by joining the Spring Swing Ball in aid of CLIC Sargent at Dunkenhalgh Hotel in Clayton-Le-Moors, Accrington, on Friday 16 May 2008.

Kicking off with a drinks reception followed by a three course meal and live music from a 13-piece swing band, the ball costs just £35 a ticket. The event is being organised by 19 year-old hospitality student Jennie Barnes, who was diagnosed with essential thrombocytosis, a pre-cancerous blood disease, when she was just 13. Still waiting for a bone marrow transplant, Jennie is managing her condition well and wants to thank the CLIC Sargent nurses and staff at her local hospital who have supported her over the years.

“The nurses and doctors at Pendlebury Children’s Hospital were great,” says Jennie. “They really don’t get enough praise for the job they do.”

Book your ticket to the ball as soon as possible by contacting Jennie on 07872 934 977 or jlbarnesevents@yahoo.co.uk

Every day in the UK, 10 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer. All money raised by the ball will go directly to CLIC Sargent to help the Charity continue to provide clinical, social, emotional and financial care and support to children with cancer and their families.
