The Tichenham Inn is celebrating the famous Ickenham Gala Festival with a week of fun filled events from 8th – 14th June to raise money for JD Wetherspoon’s chosen charity, CLIC Sargent.

The fun kicked off on Sunday 8th June and during the festival there will be something for all the family from an evening of wine tasting, to the popular ‘Curry Club’ and a range of after school activities for the kids.

The highlight of the festival is the glitzy James Bond Cocktail Night and catwalk on Friday and the Bath of Beans – with a Twist procession that takes place on the Saturday. Pub staff Robyn and Matt will submerge themselves in beans and head off around the village all in the name of charity, it’ll be a must see moment.

Entry to the events is free, apart from the wine tasting evening and there will be fundraising activities going on throughout the week in aid of CLIC Sargent.

Event organiser and pub manager, Lucy Allin said: “Everyone at the Tichenham Inn has been working hard to get everything ready for the festival and we’re really looking forward to welcoming people down to join in the fun. We are one of the few pubs taking part in the festival and have lots of events for the whole family to enjoy throughout the week.

“We want as many people as possible to come along and help us raise money for CLIC Sargent. Not to be missed is the Bath of Beans procession on Saturday.”

Proceeds raised on the day will be donated to CLIC Sargent. Through its work, it acts as a lifeline keeping families together, providing specialist nurses, doctors, play specialists, and ‘Home from Home’ facilities; specialist social care and family support in the community; and helping survivors and supporting those bereaved.
