Sarah Fraser and Miranda Knowles of Team Scorpion-Dubois made history to become the first ever all-women crew to complete the Round Britain Offshore Power Boat Race. The victorious partnership arrived back in Portsmouth having circumnavigated the coast of Britain, covering over 1,300 nautical miles, in ten days in their boat, The Sting, a 10-metre Scorpion RIB.

The courage and tenacity of both women has captured the imagination of those who have tracked their progress on their maiden power boat race. Braving unpredictable and often challenging conditions, Fraser (46 years old, mother of four) and Knowles (43 years old, mother of three) overcame both the mental and physical demands of this endurance race to raise £50,000 for CLIC Sargent.

CLIC Sargent and Dubois Yacht Design are proud of their immense achievement and congratulate them on their over-whelming success. “It is a really amazing achievement!” said Ed Dubois of Dubois Yacht Design. “With a great boat and the determination of Sarah and Miranda - and not least their wonderful skill - we had no doubt that they would make it round. Added to that they have actually done extremely well, finishing in the top quarter of the fleet”.

Team Scorpion-Dubois finished a very commendable twelfth overall in the race (out of 47 starters) and were fourth in their class.

Scorpion RIBS
Team Scorpion-Dubois competed in the new Scorpion Sting, a stunning £200,000, 10-metre RIB that has just been launched to much acclaim. Built in Lymington, it was the perfect choice to undertake such a gruelling endurance race.
Scorpion, had a total of seven boats entered in the Round Britain Race and the company is delighted that they all came home safe and sound after this most gruelling of endurance races around Britain’s coastline. It’s the greatest testament to the design and build quality of this high-end marque.
