Calling all those with a head for heights! CLIC Sargent is offering brave locals the chance to do something amazing this Christmas by taking part in a 120 foot abseil to raise money for children and young people with cancer, and their families.
The Christmas Cracker abseil will see challengers descend 120 foot from the Mannings Heath water tower individually or in teams on Saturday 6th December, between 9am and 4pm. Prizes will be awarded for the highest fundraiser (£50 to spend at top restaurant Loch Fyne) and the individuals or team sporting the best festive fancy dress (£15 to spend at Pizza Hut).
Emily Jenkins, CLIC Sargent’s local Events Fundraising Manager, said: “The Christmas Cracker abseil is a fabulous opportunity to do something amazing during the festive season and really help make a difference to those families whose lives have been affected by childhood cancer. It should be a great challenge to any abseil enthusiast as well as those wanting to try it for the first time. I would encourage people to apply as soon as possible as places are limited.”
The challenge is open to anyone over the age of 16 and people can take part in teams of four or individually. Each participant is required to pay a registration fee of £10 and raise a minimum of £100 sponsorship per person.
For more information or to order an entry pack contact Emily Jenkins on: 02380 514043, email: emily.jenkins@clicsargent.org.uk or text the word: ABSEIL to 07795 296487 (normal rates apply).
