The Fuller family is calling on daredevils to abseil down one of Northern Ireland’s most picturesque lighthouses for CLIC Sargent.
Sascha Fuller, and her parents Stephen and Nicky, launched the event which takes place on 17 March 2012 at the 120ft St John’s Point Lighthouse in Killough, Co Down.
Sascha, four-years-old, was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2010.
Calling on local people to tackle the dizzy heights, Sascha’s dad Stephen said: “When Sascha was receiving treatment for leukaemia we received much needed support from Bridgett, our CLIC Sargent Social Worker based at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.
“The help we got was invaluable, providing us with financial and emotional support. Fundraising events like this mean that other families can continue to receive the support they need from CLIC Sargent. So I encourage people to sign up for this event and have a great day out at the same time.”
Claire McAuley, Event Fundraising Manager at CLIC Sargent said: “With views across the Irish Sea and the Mourne mountains, this challenge is totally unique. No-one has ever abseiled down this impressive lighthouse so it is a chance to do something really special this St Patrick’s day.
“As well as being a part of this amazing experience, you’ll be raising valuable funds for children and young people with cancer in Northern Ireland.”
Registration for the challenge is £25 per person and CLIC Sargent asks that you raise a minimum of £55 sponsorship.
