Children from Victoria Primary School, Abersychan, Pontypool, have been invited to appear at the Welsh Hospital Choir’s Carol Concert on Thursday 11 December at St David’s Hall in Cardiff to help raise money for CLIC Sargent Cymru.
The annual carol concert, organised entirely by volunteers, is now in it’s 26th year and in that time has raised many thousands of pounds for the Charity which funds a youth development worker and nurse in the local area.
The concert, to be conducted by David John Davies, will include performances from acclaimed soprano Rebecca Evans, Andrew Lucas (organ), Director of Music at St Alban’s Abbey and the Brass Ensemble of the Welsh Guards.
Ms Joy Dando, Head Teacher of Victoria Primary School, says: “We are thrilled that the children’s choir will be performing at this concert alongside such great artists. The children are very excited and practising harder than ever. We can’t wait for what promises to be a fantastic evening.”
Conductor, David Davies, says: “We are delighted to welcome the children’s choir at this event. It seems fitting that as we are raising money for children that we have these fantastic young voices perform at the event. The Carol Concert is always very popular and promises to be a wonderful evening of music including, of course, some audience participation!
“We are also delighted that this year we have the support of local businesses, who have chosen to sponsor the concert. This means that we can raise even more vital funds for local children with cancer.”
Tickets for the concert, which takes place at St David’s Hall on Thursday 11 December, are priced from £7 and are on sale now from the Hall on: 029 2087 8444 or visit: www.stdavidshallcardiff.co.uk.
