CLIC Sargent is appealing for help after a piece of jewellery was stolen from the children’s cancer charity’s shop in Keynsham.
The 9ct gold bracelet was taken from a glass display cabinet on the afternoon of Saturday 18 October while staff and volunteers were busy serving customers.
The item had been valued by Smiths the Jewellers and was thought to be worth £145 because each link had been individually hallmarked.
The staff at the shop in Temple Street have been left very upset by the incident which has impacted on funding for valuable services for children and young people with cancer.
Sales assistant, Mandy Ashwell-Fletcher, said: “I’m amazed anyone could steal from a children’s cancer charity. Staff and volunteers work hard to raise these valuable funds which make a real difference to the lives of families affected by childhood cancer.”
The £145 worth of property stolen would be the equivalent of paying for a young person who has (or had cancer) to go an activity weekend, which after months of treatment helps to restore self-confidence, regain independence and rebuild a social life.
If anyone would like to support the shop in Keynsham with good quality donations please call the shop on: 0117 9866300.
