Me

My name is Daisy. I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in May 2006, and was on a six month course of chemotherapy and for eighteen months now I have been all clear!!

I'm currently doing nine GCSE's including art, drama and DT and someday I want to be a filthy rich actress! I LOVE the Inbetweeners.

I had been feeling rough for two years. Seeing different doctors and consultants, being accused by my friends and teachers that I was anorexic and “faking it” - I was so relieved when I was finally diagnosed.

When they told me I could either have cancer, TB [tuberculosis] or ME [chronic fatigue syndrome] once I heard the word C word I automatically went in to shut down mode, ignoring everything the doctors went on to say. When leaving the hospital I was hysterical - crying and laughing at the same time. I wasn’t thinking about the treatment or the slight chance I might die, all I could think of was about loosing all my hair!  But at the same time I would soon be back to my normal self again.

Throughout everything CLIC Sargent was there for me, and by being a web champ I hope to give something back.

Kissing in hedges

The weirdest side effect for me to get my head around was being bald, but looking back at it now there were a few occasions where I just had to laugh about it....

I used to wear woolly hats and one time I was kissing a guy in a hedge. This may sound like a weird thing to do but I think we were hiding! While we were kissing this bramble caught on my hat and it slowly began to pull of my hat! I think I managed to pull down my hat in time but it was very close thing.

So my top tip is don't kiss anybody in a hedge when you're wearing a woolly hat!
