What's it all about?
The aim of the three month project is to to make our website youthtastic! in other words interesting, appealing and relevant to young folks during and after treatment for cancer.
How are we going to do this ?
4 young people age 16 to 20 living in the south west of England and south Wales have already volunteered to become CLIC Sargent’s first ever Young Web Champions.
The Young Web Champions, who have all completed their treatment, took part in a training weekend in Bristol on the 4th and 5th April 2009. Thanks to the training weekend the Web Champs are now able to build new and exciting pages for Usurf, the youth area on the CLIC Sargent website.
What are the benefits to the Young Web Champions?
The project will give the Web Champs the opportunity to develop lots of new skills and experiences which will be a valuable and interesting addition to their CV.
What happens at the end of the project?
The project will be evaluated in July 2009. We'll ask young people if they think the website has improved for the better and how. If successful we might look to recruit additional Young Web Champions in the future. So watch this space!
