My 9 month chemotherapy treatment was cut short due to a chest infection ion July, which quickly turned into pneumonia. I had been in and out of Intensive care faster than I knew it and I was too weak to have anymore chemotherapy, which was due.
I had pneumonia from the 8th of July till the 5th of August 2008. So we took our chances and I went for a (hopefully) final CT scan to see if there was any cancer left and if I could finish treatment after only 6 months.
Hallelujah... Results came back and I had been given the all clear. I was in work when my mum text me the good news. I immediately started to cry with happiness, I was afraid they would come back negative and I’d still have to have more chemotherapy. I told all my friends and they were all so over the moon for me they went out and got tattoos of the emblem of Hodgkin's Lymphoma! I've recently had the dates I was diagnosed with cancer and the dates I had the all clear tattooed on my arms in aqua.
So after I was given the all clear i went into the hospital to have my Hickman line taken out.
I was so relieved when it was finally out, i knew it was finally over, no more pain or sicky feelings. As soon as it was pulled out I just burst out crying, which made my mum cry, i guess i got attached to my line and now it was taken out there was no chance of any more chemo going into my body.
A month later me and my boyfriend booked two tickets to Australia for a month. I could finally relax and had the best time ever traveling the east coast of Australia.
