Now this is the part where most people panic, but trust me there is nothing to panic about. The first time is the hardest but then it becomes routine, just like chemotherapy! Just don’t do what I did first time and put them on upside down!!!
Equipment
A pack of eyelashes, preferably light natural looking ones
False eyelash glue (this normally comes with the eyelashes)
Tweezers
A well lit mirror
Mascara
Eyeliner pencil (preferably black)
Most false eyelash packs come with instructions - but they obviously have never tried putting them on themselves because they just give you the basics - not those little extra tips that would really help! So that’s where I come in.
- Take one set of eyelashes and without the glue just practice putting them onto your eye along the lash line. This is just to get used to the feeling and to find out which way is more comfortable for you.
- Now its time for the real thing! Take the glue and spread along the line of the false eyelashes. Do quite a thick amount to make them stick better and don’t worry - the glue dries clear.
- Wait for 10 seconds for the glue to go a little tacky. Then take the false eyelashes and place as close as you can to your eyelash line (this is the line that your own eyelashes grow from). Now press the false eyelashes further into the glue along the lash line with the back end of your tweezers from the outside inward.
- When the glue is all clear then it’s dry.
- Now its make-up time. You may wish to keep them as they are, but if you do want to add make-up then I would suggest just a thin line of eyeliner along the line of the false eyelashes and a small layer of mascara.
- Then repeat for the other eye unless your going for the 'half done' look.
To remove:
To take them off just peel gently from the inside out, then remove make-up as usual.
Re-use:
Now here is something that will make your bank account happy – false eyelashes are reusable! This means you don’t have to spend around £3.00 a day! But after a while a layer of glue will develop along the line, but if you're careful, you can get this off and they’ll be as good as new.
Tip:
If you have £80.00 to spare then you can get eyelash extensions. They're exactly what the name suggests - individual eyelashes that are glued onto any existing eyelashes you have. They last about three weeks and can be slept in, swam in and pretty much anything! This is a good idea for when your eyelashes are growing back because unlike the ones you glue on yourself they don’t damage any news ones growing.
