The Worst Day of my Life

The day I got diagnosed with the big 'C' as they call it, my heart skip-ped a beat. You never ever think it'll happen to you and when it does, you just don't know what to do.

I arrived home and cried. The thought of dying never crossed my mind. Everyone started tiptoeing round me and nobody knew what to say. Later, my mum sat be down and explained to me how she and dad were going to be there for me and that if I had any questions, I should ask them. The first question I felt like asking was 'Am I going to die?'

If I had to give anybody who has just been diagnosed with cancer advice, I'd say talk it over. Make sure you know what's going to happen to you and make sure you ask questions. That's what they are there for.
