My story
I was first diagnosed wit ALL when i was seven years old and had six months of high chemotherapy.I can't really remember much some good times some bad but supported by my family and friends.I was treated at Southampton for a month and then moved to the Royal Marsden Sutton.
I got through well and my hair started to grow back and i was back to normal rountine.I was nearly in five year remission when in February 2006 i was re-diagnosed with ALL.We didn't know when i was first diagnosed when i was seven i had both types. This time i was going to have a bone marrow transplant.
I had lots of chemo and different drugs that made me put on weight and feel sick and tired.Chemo made alot of difference this treatment and my mobility was restricted. After my first month when i returned home i couldn't walk up the stairs.
Despite all my side affects i had a Bone Marrow Transplant in August 2006.My donor was a young male from germany.Since then recovery has been slow and i'm still up to the marsden ever 4/5 weeks.
I'm back at school with my friends now and life is getting back to normal.
Sad to say though my best hospital friend died on friday and this will be the fourth person i've known from treatment who has died :(
But a part of each of them are in my heart which is making me stronger and more determined then ever!
