Working with Cancer : A Guide for Employers
I noted your development of a package of advice and practical tips for employers to help them reduce uncertainty for their organisation and employees when supporting parents caring for children with cancer. I am a founder member of 'Working with Cancer', a small group o City based professional women who have all been treated for cancer. In November 2006 we published, in conjunction with Cancerbackup and the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) an 'Employers Guide to Working with Cancer'. This could probably also be useful to your audience. It can be found online on the Cancerbackup website and also on the CIPD website, and hard copies are available from Cancerbackup. It containes practical but also legal information re: entitlements and rights. We have also produced a first draft of a guide for Carers who work, which we hope to publish in early 2008.
